The story of the first Christmas has become so normalized and ordinary that we don’t even see the extraordinary elements, objects and people within the narrative anymore. We have succumbed to the “lullaby effect” where we “know” (or think we know) the story so well that we “fall asleep” when we hear it and we aren’t really listening…instead, we’re nodding off. We invite you to reimagine and revisualize the very first Christmas story this Christmas Eve and not just hear but actively listen to the Good News of Jesus as we discover the extraordinary within the ordinary.
