Coconut oil is a cure-all. No… not exactly… but I bet you’ve heard that you need to ditch your olive or canola oil and switch to coconut. Internet buzz promises that coconut oil will burn your belly fat, treat Alzheimer’s disease and change fat levels in your blood. Wait, did I say make your hair shinier and treat yeast infections? So what’s ground zero?

There are two main types of coconut oil… refined and virgin. Refined oil comes from dried coconut meat that’s often chemically bleached. Virgin oil is unrefined and usually a little more expensive. It comes from fresh coconut fruit without using chemicals or high temperatures. Virgin oil is your better choice. Leave refined on the shelf…more in the podcast.
