Happy International Podcast Day!
Podcasts have come a long way from the afternoon that I tried desperately to convince my OM that we needed to make the show available “on-demand” via a ‘podcast.” He was skeptical and unconvinced that we – a major radio company – had the technology to make it happen.
This is also the anniversary of one of the greatest technological achievements in human history. It was this day in 1954 that USS Nautilus, named for Jules Verne’s visionary submarine boat became a reality. Like podcasts, the Nautilus was new, shiny, and with a wide and undiscovered horizon before her. Eventually, time caught up, and tech advanced.
Someday, podcasts will be a relic of another era. It’s exciting to think that someday there will be something even more exciting…
