We discuss Australian artist Frank Hodgkinson's 1977 journey up the Sepik River in New Guinea, as documented through his sketches and diary entries. This expedition led to the creation of "The Sepik Diary," that blends personal observations with anthropological insights, filled with vivid descriptions and bold sketches, that capture the artistic traditions and cultural significance of the Sepik people.
