Podcast 44: Instagram Bannings, iWantClips Price Change

Welcome back to the Webcam Startup podcast. This week, it’s being hosted by camboy Greg Busyman. The major news today is iWantClips lowering their percentage on clip sales and raising the percentage on tributes. Instagram is also now apparently banning accounts for explicit text, although nothing can be found on their public Community Guidelines on the topic. Plus, more camming news and everything new on Webcam Startup.

What We Cover:

Flirt4Free Flirt of the Year Contest – The Flirt4Free Flirt of the Year contest starts on October 1st, featuring a $300,000 prize pool. Although the Flirt of the Year is the main contest and title to be won, there are also several smaller contests running at the same time. This includes the viewers choice awards, random drawing, category-specific contests and more.

Instagram Banning Accounts Over Explicit Text – This was originally revealed over Twitter, when Four Chambers shared a screen cap of the new Instagram banned page, which lists something new and interesting. Apparently now Instagram accounts can get banned over explicit text. The interesting thing: You can’t find any information about this in their public Community Guidelines.

iWantClips Lowers Clip Percentage, Raises Tributes – Popular domme-focused clip site iWantClips has announced that they’re lowing their clip percentage to 60%, but raising their tributes to 80%. iWantClips cites increased clip store competition as the reasoning, and specifically names ManyVids and ModelHub. iWantClips also stated that the new pricing options will allow them to invest more money into the company and traffic.

FSC Scam Alert: Fake Agent Posing As Kink.com – The Free Speech Coalition has put out a scam alert. A phony agent going by the name of Richard Smüle has been posing as Kink.com. The bogus ‘agent’ is using a telephone number with the 336 (North Carolina) area code, and promises upwards of $1500 for “advertising photos.”

CamWithHer Custom Store Items Now Support Tangibles – CamWithHer has made some changes to their custom store item feature. Now CWH camgirls can sell tangibles such as panties, bras and other items on the site.

5 Reasons To Choose A Camcorder Over DSLR – Camgirl and clip producer Katy Churchill compares camcorders over DSLR and gives her reasons on why camcorders might be a better option, especially for performers on a budget. Camcorders are cheaper, easier to use, more portable, designed specifically for video and can be used right out of the box.

Camming and Clip Sites That Went Out of Business – This is a new piece of content that’s going to be ongoing. Since Webcam Startup was formed, we’ve watched multiple camming and clip sites go out of business, switch to whitelabels or get acquired.
