If you are interested in starting your own podcast or just curious to know what gear and software I use, then you need to hear this podcast. Scroll below to find the actual podcast (stream for free).
I do not get super technical here, but it should give you a good idea of what it takes to get setup to get a good sound.
I learned a lot from this internet sensation Pat Flynn among with many other online resources and just tinkering around with my gear. You know, good old fashioned trial and error along with a mix of troubleshooting.
Here is a list of my gear and the bottom line (assuming you will get medium to good gear).
* 1) Get a decent computer (prices range)
Buy one here: http://amzn.to/2kbTYeO
2) Upload Audacity (free software) and learn the basics.

3) Get a mixer (probably 4+ channels):
Here is one like mine: http://amzn.to/2k1tTlO
4) Get a sound card.
Buy one like mine here: http://amzn.to/2jT9dvG
5) Dont forget decent headphones:
Buy here: http://amzn.to/2kmltSp
6) And buy a mic, preferably a condensor mic:
Buy it here: http://amzn.to/2jWpQqy
7) It would be good to add other stuff like aux chords, mic chords, mic stands or boom stands, shock mounts, popper stoppers/filters, wall art and etc.
Once you get this stuff, you are ready to roll.
Best of luck.
