PERSISTENCE
What is persistence?
Dictionary.com defines it as:
noun
1. the act or fact of persisting.
2. the quality of being persistent:
3. continued existence or occurrence
My favorite one is the 3. continued existence or occurrence.
It’s pretty simplistic if you as me. Do you continue the existence of what you want or desire? Do you continue the occurrence of them as well? Then you may have persistence.
Some synonyms (similar words) are endurance, grit, stamina, tenacity, perseverance and resolution.
And some antonyms are apathy, laziness, lethargy, weakness and indifference.
Does the meaning speak out to you yet, is it clear?
Some quotes are as following (not fully synonymous with the podcast) from goodreads.com (bad ass website):
“The best way out is always through.”
― Robert Frost
“Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”
― Winston S. Churchill
“The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, common sense.”
― Thomas A. Edison
Now I don’t just quote successful, crusty old white dudes.
Here’s a long one from my former favorite rapper:
“Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? Proving nature’s laws wrong, it learned to walk without having feet. Funny, it seems to by keeping it’s dreams; it learned to breathe fresh air. Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else even cared.”
― Tupac Shakur, The Rose That Grew from Concrete
So you should have a good idea what “persistence” means.

I know, most of you know what persistence is, in a sense at least. But ever since I was a kid, I loved to simply just look up definitions of words and some of the words I loved over the years have changed meaning to me.
When I used to think of persistence, I had an image of an older lady praying to Jesus (like the parable from the bible).
Now, I mostly picture myself doing cross-fit and sweating. But I know it’s more than that.
In actuality, it is me doing this blog and podcast. This writing is actually a retro edit. I have improved in my blog/article writing and decided to re-write this post.
I have also set new standards for writing, SEO and using the podcast to supplement the articles instead of vice versa. THAT IS A RESULT OF PERSISTENCE. I originally wrote the first “persistence” version late 2017. It is now early spring 2018.
AND IM REVISITING OLD POSTS.
How do you like them apples.
All joking aside, I really think my persistence in improving myself physically, mentally and spiritually is HELPING ME IN ALL AREAS OF MY LIFE.
That’s the reward from persistence and I still think continuing to persist will have MORE REWARDS as time goes by.
So I want to encourage you to read this post again, listen to the podcast on this post as much as you need,
