Kassie J Runyan is a best-selling poet and fiction author who currently resides in New York City with her husband, Rick; and their two companion animals – Lily (kitten) and Sydney (parrot). Marketer by day and writer and explorer by night. When she is not exploring the US and other countries or spending time back home with family, you can find her walking the streets of NYC with Rick, searching for a new brewery or looking for a stray animal to love.

Kassie has focused heavily on homelessness and mental illness – both in her writing and in her previous volunteer work with the Red Cross. Her novel, that is in edit, focuses on one man’s journey into homelessness and loss. And her two poetry collections from 2020, “This is 2020” and “Their Footsteps” give a portion of their proceeds to organizations that focus on helping the future of the human race, Coalition For The Homeless, Color Of Change, and Heifer International.

Kassie also joined with a fellow poet out of the UK to create OpenDoor Magazine, a globally distributed digital literature and arts magazine. The goal of OpenDoor Magazine is to provide unknown and rising poets, authors, songwriters, and artists access to a global audience and exposure.
