Poetry Reading: A bird came down the walk by Emily Dickenson

Listen Later

It has always made me sad (and yes, a little bit bitter) that female writers aren't quite recognized as most writers. For the month of October, we will be reading poetry by the famous Emily Dickenson. The third poem for this month is, "A bird came down the walk". Read by yours truly, here's a poem for your morning exercise or evening blues.

Poetry Reading on WEDNESDAYS. See you next week!

POET OF THE MONTH

Who is Emily Dickenson? One of the most important figures in American poetry. This woman is a classic. Not much was known in her life, but we do know that she changed poetry by the way she treated everything in the world using her words. I hope you enjoy the month of October with Miss  Dickenson. Have you ever been fond of birds? What's your favorite animal? I do adore animals, but I don't think I have the skill to take care of them just yet. There's something beautiful about the existence of animals and their relationship with humans. What's your take on this poem?
