Poetry Reading: Edge by Sylvia Plath

Listen Later

Welcome to Mars! How is everyone? It has always made me sad (and yes, a little bit bitter) that female writers aren't quite recognized as most writers. This month we will focus on the poems of Sylvia Plath. Read by yours truly, here's a poem for your morning exercise or evening blues.

Poetry Reading on WEDNESDAYS. See you next week!

POET OF THE MONTH

Who is Sylvia Plath? An American writer who is credited for the advancement of 'confessional poetry'. She is best known for the 'Bell Jar' and 'Ariel'. 'Edge' has been described as a moving poem about a woman who committed suicide after killing her children  I always found this poem to be absolutely riveting. Though short, the use of its language is engaging. The stanzas were delivered with care. I hope you enjoy it too.
