Artwork by Mark Garry.  Today's poem, Joy, is in the public domain and was written by Clarissa Scott Delany, born Clarissa Mae Scott, who was an African American author of essays and poems, teacher, and social worker active during the time of the Harlem Renaissance, a hugely influential outpouring of art of all kinds from Black artists in Harlem nearly a century ago.
