It's a Poetry Snack, featuring Claude McKay, born Festus Claudius McKay in Sunny Ville, Jamaica in 1889.  McKay wrote both poetry and prose, and he was another key figure in the Harlem Renaissance, the prominent literary movement of the 1920s and 30s that I often mention here on the podcast.

Words by Winter: Conversations, reflections, and poems about the passages of life. Because it’s rough out there, and we have to help each other through.

Original theme music for our show is by Dylan Perese. Additional music composed and performed by Kelly Krebs. Artwork by Mark Garry.  Today's poem, After the Winter, is in the public domain.
