Landlines: Discussions about land use and abuse in Prince Edward Island

Point Deroche: A process undermined

Listen Later

Join host Boyd Allen and guest Bryson Guptill as they unravel the twisted series of events at 251 Kelpie Lane, Point Deroche. This has become a case study in the multitude of ways the Lands Protection Act is abused here in Prince Edward Island.

This podcast is brought to you by The Coalition for the Protection of PEI Lands, which formed in 2018 in an effort to raise awareness about land issues in PEI and also to hold government to account on its response to these issues.

The simple fact that multiple governments spanning 50 + years have promised to
enact an island-wide Land Use Plan yet have not done so indicates the need for
investigation into WHY this has not happened.
This series of podcasts is a result of consultations with our members and those who follow us on social media on what other methods we might try in the Coalition’s continuing effort to share information and spark discussion on the issues around land use and abuse on the Island and why governments continue to be unwilling to be transparent about why it continues to happen.
If you enjoy this episode, please continue the conversation and pass it on.
