Pointe Coupee Creoles: The Most “Creole” LA Creoles?

The Pointe Coupee Creoles speak a unique, distinct dialect of Louisiana Creole. They are unique in that they had for many years a significant African population but most notably because they did not receive Acadian settlement. Therefore, their Creole is “pure” absent of Cajun French, unlike other varieties of LA Creole.
