Bridget Regan cast as Poison Ivy for Batwoman Season 3

The CW has cast Bridget Regan to appear as the iconic supervillain Poison Ivy for Season 3 of Batwoman.

Poison Ivy, a.k.a Pamela Isley, is a former botany student of Gotham University described as a passionate, brilliant scientist with a mind for changing the world for the better. But her plans shifted when she was experimented on by a colleague and injected with various plant toxins which turned her into the infamous Batman villain Poison Ivy. With a formidable power coursing through her veins, Pamela used her powers to do what she thought was right, even if Batman and those closest to her disagreed with her dangerous methods. Now effectively wiped off the board for years, Batwoman and her team must prepare themselves for Poison Ivy to return with a vengeance.

Regan will appear on Batwoman in a recurring guest star role. This is not her first time in a live-action comic book series, having previously appeared on the ABC series Agent Carter.

DC FanDome schedule revealed

DC Entertainment’s streaming fan event DC FanDome, is set to return on October 16th. In the announced schedule, Warner Bros. Pictures promises a new trailer for The Batman, along with glimpses of other 2022 releases like Black Adam, The Flash, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

In video games, updates will be provided on Gotham Knights, the Bat Family ensemble game coming in 2022 from WB Games Montreal, and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League by Rocksteady Studios.

Additionally, Warner Bros. Television will provide a look at new seasons of Batwoman, The Flash, Superman & Lois, and Sweet Tooth, as well as a tribute to Supergirl as the show wraps up its final season. Warner Bros. Animation will update fans on the animated series Harley Quinn, the forthcoming series Aquaman: King of Atlantis, and Batman: Caped Crusader.

The Return of the Rocketeer film set for Disney+

Disney is reviving a cult classic favorite, The Rocketeer, with a new Disney+ movie titled The Return of the Rocketeer. David and Jessica Oyelowo are producing under their Yoruba Saxon banner, with David potentially starring in the film as well.

The original movie, released in 1991, was directed by Joe Johnston and adapted from Dave Stevens’ graphic novel. In that film, which became a fan fave for the studio, a young pilot stumbles onto a prototype jetpack that allows him to become a high-flying masked hero.

The Return of the Rocketeer will have an all-new creative directive, with the story focusing on a retired Tuskegee airman who takes up the Rocketeer mantle.
