The main problem with this movie stems from the reason that they are keeping his father hidden from the plot. We needed scenes between Tim Goodman and Harry Goodman so that we care about the connection between the father and the sun. Us as the audience, are in the shoes of Tim - However we are in the dark just as pikachu is with his memory loss. By the end of this movie we still do not understand who pikachu is.
