Avery Anderson is a product of the Texas Basketball Circuit. However, Anderson will be the first to tell you New Orleans is home. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina forced his family to evacuate. They eventually settled in Texas. That is where Anderson’s basketball career took off. He led his high school team to a state title appearance. He was named his district’s MVP as a junior and senior. He owns the Northwest High School scoring record with 2,767 career points. He set at least 5 other records. Don’t expect them to be broken anytime soon. Anderson has come a long way from the quiet freshman who first walked in the door. He’s now a senior leader, hoping to finish his career in Stillwater strong.
