Officially, Nick Martin grew up in Texarkana, Texas. Unofficially, he’ll tell you he’s from Beast Texas—an area that got its name for the level of talent it produces on the football field. Fitting for a kid whose love of contact led him to playing linebacker. Martin represents Beast Texas the only way he knows how—by playing the game violently. It’s obvious Martin’s doing something right. This season, he earned his first career start, first career sack, and in just three games has already surpassed his total tackles from last year. Even with his hot start, Martin is taking the field each week with something to prove.
