Ursula is a Polar historian, lecturer at the University of Canterbury, and has been on Expedition Cruise Ships in the Antarctic. Her research interests are social history, history of science, economy, politics, and technology in the Polar Regions. Before becoming a researcher, she taught history, religious education, and social sciences in schools in Austria and Germany for 17 years. She has published extensively in English and German peer-reviewed papers.
