Yesterday, Police Divisional Commissioner for Human Resources, Bongiwe Zulu, speaking at a media briefing called by Acting Police Minister, Firoz Cachalia, in Cape Town, confirmed that police officers with critical skills who have applied for leave have been placed on standby ahead of planned protest marches on the 30th of June. Furthermore, SAPS has approached the private security industry to bolster operations ahead of the 30 June protests.
