Policies and Legislations that will advance Nigeria in 2021 (part 1)

Listen Later

Policies are strategies carefully mapped out for implementation to achieve stated objectives. Usually, these policies are situated within the ambits of existing or created piece of legislations. Critics of the Buhari-led administration have accused the administration of running with inconsistent, incoherent and unsustainable policies while others have argued the absence of well thought out plans and policies to better the lives of Nigerians as well as their means of livelihood. One of the major policy summersault is the recent border closure which has since been re-opened. Are there commensurate derivable benefits to Nigeria and Nigerians alike? Was it just an exercise in futility? Was it really meant to send the right message to our neighbors? At what cost and at whose expense? All these are pertinent questions as the policy had untold hardship on Nigerians and the economy of Nigeria as well. Recall that Nigeria slipped back into a second recession in 5 years while its borders were closed. There is no gainsaying that a one-time boisterous economy of Nigeria is now a shadow of itself as citizens buying power are greatly affected.
All these and many formed the crux of discussion on this edition with Mr. Mujidang Sitdang as our guest. Enjoy listening.
