Some principles I try to follow when it comes to politics:

1) Friends first. Don't let politics come between us.
2) Don't demonise or disagree for the sake of it.
3) 'Them and us' = all working people vs inherited wealth
4) Recognise there is a limit to what politicians can achieve. Vow to do more ourselves by working together.
5) Power should always be questioned and challenged.
6) Widen participation in democracy
7) If you want change, be prepared to win an unfair fight.
