In today’s lecture, we will discuss election laws in India. The Representation of the People Act, 1950, and 1951 govern the allocation of parliamentary and assembly seats, constituency delimitation, and the conduct of elections. The Delimitation Act, 2002, ensures constituency readjustment based on census data. Other laws, such as the Parliament (Prevention of Disqualification) Act, 1959, and the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections Act, 1952, support these regulations. Together, these laws maintain the integrity and fairness of India's electoral process.
