This week, we look at the Gospel of Luke when the angel Gabriel appears with surprising news. We see that Mary ponders his words, discerning their meaning. This purposeful process helps align her will with God's, conceiving Jesus in her womb. We too can follow Mary’s example through daily prayer, which provides the best opportunity to ponder God's promises and direction for our lives. Yet busyness often blocks our ability to truly listen, discern, and understand what God is saying. By regularly setting aside time to ask, seek, and pray, pondering anchors us amidst the waves of life to hear God’s voice and Spirit, keeping us alert and ready for His return.
