Poolbeg Pharma (AIM:POLB) CEO Jeremy Skillington joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion to discuss the dosing of the first patient in its TOPICAL clinical trial evaluating POLB-001 for the prevention of cytokine release syndrome in multiple myeloma patients receiving Johnson & Johnson's teclistamab.
Poolbeg expects to enrol up to 30 patients and remains on track to deliver interim clinical data by the end of summer 2026. Skillington highlighted growing interest from additional UK investigators, which could accelerate enrolment as more sites come online.
Beyond the trial, Poolbeg is in active partnering discussions with both pharma companies developing CRS-associated cancer therapies and supportive care firms, supported by a comprehensive virtual data room. A positive FDA pre-IND meeting and research covering US payers across approximately 75 million lives strengthen the commercial case.
"Having these clinical milestones and clinical data coming through throughout the summer — that really is what triggers the significant interest and potential transactions when it comes to partnering discussions," Skillington said.
