Luke 4:1-13 NIV
Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, (2) where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry. (3) The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.” (4) Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’” (5) The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. (6) And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. (7) If you worship me, it will all be yours.” (8) Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’” (9) The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. (10) For it is written:“‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; (11) they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” (12) Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’” (13) When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.
Hebrews 2:18 NIV
Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
Hebrews 4:15 NIV
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out (pop a balloon or two) so that you can endure it.

but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. (15) Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
Deuteronomy 8:3 NIV
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
#1 POP! - “It is written!” Did you hear that popping sound?
Hebrews 4:12 NIV
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
#2 POP! - Did you hear it? “It is written .."

The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. (6) And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. (7) If you worship me, it will all be yours.” (8) Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.(Deuteronomy 6:13)’”
#3 POP! And the temptation time is over for a season.

(10) For it is written:“‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; (11) they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” (12) Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’” (13) When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.
Matthew 4:10 NIV
Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”
"Balloon popping” - get into it right now!
1.Understand what is happening, and decide to bring it to Jesus (the King over our lives!)
2.It’s not what the devil SAYS or SHOWS or LEADS you that’s important. It’s what is WRITTEN in God’s Word! Replace the bad thoughts with the Word of God.
3.Say ‘No more!’ This is not helping me. This may be my past … but This is not my future! Then 'Pop that balloon'.
4.Share with a trusted friend - that’ll be a balloon pop right there. (A trusted believing friend encourages you to get closer to God, not further away)
5.God is with you - Come out of a season of tempting stronger, and temptation weaker.
