  • "Being the Ricardos," Amazon Prime. Steve says this Best Picture nominee manages to make Lucy not so lovable ... or at least not that funny. Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem, and J.K. Simmons star in this drama based on real events.
  • "The Last Kingdom," Netflix. The past sins of warrior Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) affect his present and the future of England in the fifth and final season.

Books

  • "The Bottoms," by Joe R. Lansdale. In this Edgar Award-wining mystery/coming-of-age story, a boy in East Texas during the Great Depression gets swept up in events surrounding the brutal murders of several women, black and white.
