In this episode I describe the most fundamental levels of brokenness that are present in the addict’s heart. The deep yearning for a safe, intimate relationship with a trustworthy person is a common human desire, but one that is especially needed in an addict’s life.

I have yet to meet an addict with close, reliable friends: particularly male addicts. This issue is not as strong with female addicts. Regardless, this need for healthy intimacy is a core yearning and one that must first be directed to God and then to others.
