Portrait of a Lady on Fire is a film about an 18th century French painter named Marianne who is commissioned to paint a portrait of a woman named Heloise. Marianne arrives at the island where Heloise is currently living, only for Heloise's mother to inform her that Heloise doesn't have the temperament to be painted, and that Marianne must paint her from memory. It's just like that one Bruce Springsteen song, but a little more French. Caution: movie spoilers.
