Melbourne gynaecologist Dr Simon Gordon faces potential class action after allegedly performing hundreds of unnecessary pelvic surgeries, including hysterectomies and ovary removals, on women he claimed had endometriosis despite pathology results often showing little to no trace of the condition. One hundred women have met with lawyers from Arnold Thomas and Becker and two other law firms to discuss legal action, with many patients still attempting to access their medical records. Dr Gordon has surrendered his medical registration and is under investigation by AHPRA and Victoria Police.
