Colin joins us for birthday cake, a Nip of Royal Salute 21, and a conversation that got a lot warmer than expected.

He opens with his worst financial decision — a brand-new Mercedes coupé bought purely on emotion, when the same money could have bought a property. But the real substance comes when Bindi asks what keeps the fire in his belly now that he's already retired his parents. The answer: inspiring a generation of Australians to take charge of their financial futures, and funding three nights of emergency accommodation for the homeless for every client he serves.

We get into the assumption Colin thinks is costing Aussies the most ("she'll be right, mate"), the half a million dollars he's spent on personal development and what he'd take back, and why proximity to the right people beats proximity to the loudest people. There's a story about Peter and Sue Irvine, a mentor he couldn't afford and served instead. There's Matt and Paula, whose kids became property owners at 17 and 19.

Plus Alex gets called out on his own worst decision, and Colin gets called out for taking ten months to make a referral.

The whisky was excellent. The conversation was better.
