Scent Dialekt

Powdered. Bad Ronald (1974)

Listen Later

Director: Buzz Kulik.

This is from a summer I spent with my grandmother in Kansas, where we watched a bunch of horror movies, and this one was next level to see at such a young age. Knowing a teenager could be capable of these acts, of having that tendency in him, really freaked me out. When Ronald's mom gives him supplies to survive inside the wall, I became obsessed with powdered milk. The second I saw him pouring the powder, mixing it with bathroom sink water, trying to drink it, I begged my grandma for a month to buy me some. She went off on me in the middle of a grocery store and said she was not buying me any goddamn powdered milk. Delusions. Powdered milk. Peeling wallpaper. Dry wood. Stale air.
