Warning: Those that are too easily influenced probally shouldn't read this book. While very interesting and enjoyable, this book has amoral principles. But you shouldn't view this book as the bible and follow it in such a way. If you can read it with your "own" mind, whether you agree with its principles or not, i believe almost everyone will find that a lot of what is written has truth to it. Its only when you start to take every Law seriously and fail to understand that everything is situational that you start to misinterpret the book. If you take the time to independently study indivuals that have achieved notable success in their lives, especially politicians, you will then see that sometimes it takes a little more than good work ethic and integrity to excel.

Really Good Read

I thought the book was absolutely relevant to today even though the examples in most of the 48 laws were from historical occurances throughout history. Robert Greene blends many different learning methods, including fables, poetry, as well as regular prose to convey general life lessons that many of us learn the hard way. Some laws of power may be deemed unethical, while other simple, but the point is each and every one is true and relevant to accumulating power. By using this book you can protect yourself from extremely ambitious people, while executing your own ambitions as well. Great read to understanding the human psyche and its quest to be ambitious.
