How do you hold on to who you are when someone you love needs you around the clock?
In this heart opening episode of the Starting Over Wealth podcast, I’m joined by someone who truly understands the weight and wonder of caregiving: Christy Moore, a registered nurse, patient educator, and fellow caregiver with over 30 years of hands-on experience.
Christy is not only a compassionate professional, but she’s also the voice behind My Best Caregiver’s Life—a podcast devoted to empowering caregivers who feel like they’ve lost themselves while showing up for everyone else.
In this episode, we have a real talk about:
Whether you’re a full-time caregiver, navigating medical crises, or stepping into a new season of supporting a loved one, you are not alone. This episode is packed with wisdom, empathy, and real-life strategies from two women who’ve been there, cried there, and still show up every day.
Let this be your invitation to breathe, reset, and remember: you are more than what you do.
You are still becoming who you are.

This season, we feature inspiring conversations with guests who provide the motivation needed to rewrite your life story with purpose and authenticity. Welcome to Season 12, where we’re taking control and becoming the authors of our own stories!
In today's episode, we have an inspiring conversation with Allie Phillips. At just 30 years old, Allie faced a devastating challenge in reproductive care. At 20 weeks pregnant, she was informed that her pregnancy was no longer viable and her health was at risk. Unable to obtain an abortion in Tennessee, she was forced to leave the state to receive the lifesaving care she needed. Since then, Allie has joined a lawsuit against the state of Tennessee, testified before the US Senate, and ran a strong campaign for the Tennessee State House last year. Recently elected as the new chair of her county party, Allie continues to fight for justice for all.
Don't miss this powerful episode as Allie shares her journey and insights on overcoming adversity and advocating for change. Tune in to be inspired and motivated to take bold steps in your own life.

Shame is a heavy burden, but it’s not one you have to carry forever. In this deeply moving episode of the Starting Over Wealth podcast, host Tricia sits down with Tonya Bailey Jones, a fellow faculty member at the Redefining Wealth Institute and author of Pearls in the Pew. Together, they open up about the silent struggles many women of faith face after abortion—the weight of guilt, the battle against negative self-talk, and the isolation that often follows.
Tonya shares her personal journey of healing, the power of self-forgiveness, and how women can reclaim their identity and worth in God’s eyes. This conversation is a powerful reminder that grace is greater than shame and that you are never too far from God’s love. Tonya’s book, podcast, and resources serve as a lifeline for those seeking healing and restoration.

Today, she welcomes Laura Mayes, co-founder of Mom 2.0, to share the journey of creating a community for not just women, but mothers in particular that empowers them through new media and networking opportunities. They reminisce and relate on a very deep level about the challenges of being mothers in tech-oriented spaces and creating room for finding and nurturing connections that help tech-centric entrepreneurial mothers flourish. Their conversation explores the origins of Mom 2.0, the evolution of motherhood in the digital age, and lessons from the pandemic on parenting and business. Laura emphasizes the importance of connection, adaptability, and the shared experiences of mothers in navigating their roles in both family and work.

And, together, they emphasize the importance of modeling life skills for the next generation, the value of networking and collaboration among women, and the significance of leadership and personal growth. The conversation then wraps by highlighting the upcoming Mom 2.0 conference and the opportunities it presents for connection and learning. And, they share an amazing opportunity for YOU to join them this year in Orlando, FL with a huge discount on your ticket. When we become moms, we develop superpowers. Most of us are familiar with that old mom threat of having eyes in the back of our heads. And just the other day, I was joking with my son about how I…
Well, Power Moms not only develop these superpowers (which also include crazy multi-tasking, memory challenges from the kids’ routines, conflict resolution, you name it…, but they then parlay those superpowers into other successes for themselves, their families, and their communities.
And, we don’t stop there! A Power Mom also helps other moms achieve and succeed. The happier and healthier you are (emotionally, physically, mentally, financially, or otherwise), you’ll be a better mom. So, our community and its Power Moms Podcast Network features moms who have found their greater powers and want to connect to help YOU do the same.
Are YOU a Power Mom? Are you on your way? Let’s emPOWER each other to lift this world through connecting our superpowers!
