Just kidding. For real though, with there having been so much talk surrounding all of the NFL/flag/anthem protests, we decided to do an episode on symbolism and why everyone seems to be so up in arms about it. It’s been a while now since that whole thing started and while the dust hasn’t settled completely, we thought now would be a good time to take a look at why symbols elicit such strong emotional reactions from people, what our symbols of patriotism mean to different groups, and how those symbols can and often do take on a life of their own.
