Have you ever been part of a dress rehearsal, like a wedding or a quinceanera, some type of a formal function that you've got going on in life? There's always that dress rehearsal, right? There's always the planning, there's always the structure, there's always the blueprint of what the wedding is gonna look like, so everything is orchestrated a certain way. This is the same with your building season. The seasons in your life, that you're grinding that you're figuring things out, you're trying new things, you're trying new concepts, you've hired a new coach, you're part of this new program, whatever that looks like, that, my friend, is the dress rehearsal.
But then, there is the time when once the dress rehearsal is done, once the dinner is gone, the next day is show-time. This may be your season right now, where you're building, you're grinding and it feels like it's time for the show to get started. That is your gut, that is the Holy Spirit, that is God letting you know it is showtime, baby. And so, everything that you learned as you were building, now it's time to put it into action.
Now, here's the nugget through all that. Even though you've practiced, and practiced, and rehearsed, and dressed up, and got everything flowing, (those of you who have been married and have had that wedding day), know that there are hiccups along the way that you weren't expecting, and all of a sudden they present themselves. So what do you do in those moments? Here's what you do:
You punt.
You go for it.
You figure those things out, you have a team of bridesmaids, and best men and all that stuff going on, right?
You seek the counsel of those that are around you and say, "All right, how do we fix this? Because I'm on showtime right now, and I don't have time to fix this".
Now, everything may not only relate to a wedding day but hopefully, you get the gist of it.
The point is, perseverance is about showing up at the time that you truly need to, because of all the preparation that you have done. And all that preparation was and is on purpose!
Take a look at your life and see what parts are in “Show-Time” mode.
Write and evaluate your thoughts and put them into action!
