In this week's Power Up Podcast, Taylor is joined by Nick, Mike, & Anthony as they discuss EA's latest statements, Games on the horizon, Sony's next-gen plans and so much more.
Starting things off with a bang this week. EA is once more in the news as the Executive Vice President has gone on the record stating that "25 years at EA and I still struggle with the external perception that we’re just a bunch of bad guys. We love making and playing games. Unfortunately, when we make mistakes on games, the world knows about it because it’s of a size and scale." perhaps it has something to do with EA not making a good game in... Oh, I don't know... 5 or so years and they keep pushing loot boxes on to people. With the Andromeda mix up, the two Star Wars Battlefront games and now Anthem, we feel people have a right to think EA are the bad guys. After all, they were voted as the worst company 2 years in a row.
Following this, Sony has gone on the record stating that they are looking at picking up a heap of Third Part Developers (Similar to what Microsoft did last year) to give gamers more games and solidify their content flow for next gen's PS5. Is Sony worried about Google Stadia? Are they worried PS Players may make their way to Google's new Streaming Device? Or, is this to combat Microsoft's recent content push?
