Powering Up in the New Year with Samara and Shylah

Listen Later

Samara and Shylah are pumped about the second episode

of the new ASK THE GIRLS! The D.C. sisters both celebrated birthdays in December so they were a year older – 13 and 12- when they welcomed New Year 2025. They are brimming with ideas, so Emunah listeners be ready for a real
treat.

The middle schoolers, both of whom attend D.C. Prep

Academy in the nation’s capital, talk about changing habits and setting goals that include getting closer to God this year.

“If I say I’ll do something and I like don’t do it that’s a habit I’m trying to get better at not doing,” Shylah shares.

Samara says, “I’ll say a habit that I’m trying to change would be being more productive in my day-to-day life, in my routines and stuff.”

In the popular “Yay or Nay” segment, the sisters jazzed things up by quizzing each other about scenarios dealing with honesty, integrity, and truth.

And Samara and Shyla introduced a new segment called

“What does it mean to you?” The girls ask the co-hosts, Tamara and Cynthia, to share what well-chosen Bible verses mean to them personally. The scriptures selected were John 15:7 and Psalm 18: 7-8, and then the girls were asked their
opinion/reaction to John 11:35.

ALSO NEW! Instead of critiquing a movie, like they did

in the last episode, the girls decided to discuss the animated Bible Story series called “The Marvelous Light.” The series is produced by Kingdomland Kids, a ministry at First Baptist Church of Glenarden International in Landover, Maryland. The goal of “The Marvelous Light” episodes is to impart the teachings of God’s word in a way that guides children in walking the path of the Lord.

Join Shylah and Samara in a fun-filled, enlightening, and educational journey through this episode of ASK THE GIRLS!
