Your doctor will never be able to care more about the well being of your family than they do for their own. Your CPA cannot care more about your tax situation than you. The police will not care as much as you do about the safety of your family. The same goes for your financial planner or attorney. I'm not saying that this is a license for your advisors to be lazy. You need to take an active role in the process in order to keep your priorities top of mind for your team.
