Speaker: Rev. Kevin Ueta
Scripture: Lamentations 3:16-27
How do we respond to the suffering in the world around us?
What is “lament”?
———
Three steps of lament
1. Express our feelings of anguish.
2. Seek hope and further trust in God.
3. Pray for and serve those who are suffering.
———
Reflection Questions
1. As you spend time reflecting on this past year, what are some thoughts that come to mind? What are some emotions that you experience during your time of reflection?
2. As you, perhaps, experience feelings of grief, sorrow, or regret, what are these emotions telling you? Afterwards, after giving yourself time to lament, spend time in prayer and share your earnest thoughts with the Lord.
3. Over this past year, where have you experienced God’s faithfulness in your own life or in the lives of others? How has God been at work over this past year?
4. How has God restored your sense of hope and joy in and through Jesus Christ?
5. How, specifically, is God calling you to respond to the brokenness that we see and experience in the world around us?
