Week 5: Practicing Holy LeisureKey Idea: Holy leisure is not idleness, but a sacred rhythm of life that honors rest, reflection, and divine presence.
We tend to fill our lives with tasks, calendars, obligations. But the Course teaches us that we have the power to “unmake” the world we made. In Week 5, we reflect on Holy Leisure—a sacred approach to time that includes rest, reflection, and surrender.
Lesson 155 reminds us: “I will step back and let Him lead the way.” We are not meant to charge forward all the time. Sometimes the most powerful action is to wait in loving awareness and quiet.
The Rules for Decision reinforce this: we always have a choice. We can continue to repeat the patterns of busyness, or we can decide to see our day as holy. A day of rest. A day of peace. A day guided by Spirit.
This week’s guided meditation, “Letting the Day Be Holy Meditation.” The link to the meditation is included in the study guide PDF download available on our website and is shared at the start of the Sunday study group session.
