Welcome! In Episode 75 I discuss the concept of being “four-walled” by well-meaning family members and friends. Learn from my experiences and fast track your success in every area of your life.

If you’re just starting out as an online entrepreneur, you may have already had the experience of family members and friends discouraging you from achieving your goals and dreams. We’ve all had this occur in on form or another. Although it may come across as hurtful, know that these people simply want to protect you from something they know little about.

If you think about it, it makes sense that people who love and care about you will want to shield you from financial ruin and disappointment. I encourage you to sit down with them right now to discuss what you are working to achieve and how they can further encourage and support you as you go forward.

These people are “four-walling” your dream by creating a box and putting us inside of it where we are surrounded on all sides. We must take this behavior in the way it is given – with love and respect.

Entrepreneurship is risky by nature, but leaving a job and living off your savings takes that risk to the next level. It’s your job to do the best you can and to take action every day to build your reputation and gain the trust of our loved ones. Show them that you do have a plan, as well as a mentor to guide you to success. Make sure you have enough money set aside to cover all of your living expenses for the next six months to a year.

The word “praestabilis” means outstanding and extraordinary and this is the goal for you as you make your way in the online world.

It took me until age 50 to step into the light and live an empowered life. * Writing – Every day, I want you to write! This includes blog posts, outlines, emails to your prospects, clients, and potential joint venture partners. Also, write short reports and white papers to show others who you are and what you know. Finally, write a book to solidify your expertise in your niche, and follow that up with additional books over time. * Speaking – I was the reluctant speaker, but once I got past my fears and insecurities you can’t get the microphone away from me. Speak about yourself and your topic to anyone who will listen.
