Welcome to Episode 2 of the Pragmatic Bhakti Sutra. In this episode, we will discuss and explain Shlokas 1 to 6 from the Narada Bhakti Sutra. These are aphorisms on divine love termed as bhakti towards God.
Joining me today is Kalpana Mataji who also runs her YouTube channel Melodious Devotion, where she has shared many of her devotional songs.
In shlokas 1 to 6 of the Narada Bhakti Sutra, Narad Ji explains the Nature of Bhakti or Divine Love for and of God.
I request you to listen to the Introduction to the Narada Bhakti Sutra if you have not already done so.
Narad Ji opens the Bhakti Sutra with his opening shloka, Shloka 1: अथातो भक्तिं व्याख्यास्यामः॥ १॥ (athāto bhaktiṁ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ) which means "Now, therefore, the doctrine of devotion we shall explain."
