Praise for God From the Descendants of Moab

I

The children of Moab weep in torment,

sad faces wet with tears.

The judgment of God's words

makes me shake with fear.

With tearful eyes,

my flesh is given to

the fires of judgment.

The children of Moab weep in torment.

The merciless judgment

sends me to hell.

Pain and chastisement come upon me.

In trials I call out and seek You.

Sinking to despair,

I hate myself all the more.

A tragedy plays out,

I believe but don't belong to You.

I weep and beat my chest in remorse.

The trial of furnace torments my heart.

The children of Moab weep in torment,

the desire to be blessed

vanishing completely

in God's judgment,

corruption cast aside by chastisement,

tears of lamentation erased in silence.

The children of Moab

utter sincere praise.

God is so lovable,

and I will love Him always.

Believing but not pleasing You,

unworthy to be called human.

If I have a conscience,

I should rise, bear witness to You.

Even if You detest me,

I will still love You, unashamed.

Though I am a child of Moab,

my heart that loves You

will not change.

So many seek to understand Your will.

So many long to love You fully.

So many prepare

their lives to please You.

So many try to repay Your love.

The children of Moab weep in torment,
