Pray

Listen Later

One way to rejoice more is to pray more. There was a need to pray back in biblical times and for today. The problem then was that people didn't pray like they should just as today's time, Luke 18:1. I Luke 18 we read of a parable about a woman that kept asking for help. In the end the woman was granted her request because the judge was tired of her asking. How much more does God love us than that of the judge? Do you expect and answer immediately from God when you pray? Do you expect your request to be answered the way you want it when you pray? Do you even pray, pray without ceasing?

Why pray? Matt 26:41, one prays better when there is trouble in their life. So why do we pray? We pray because we are weak. We don't have the answers.

When to pray? Now Daniel prayed morning, noon and night. If we are not careful that will be the mandate that we will place on our prayer time. We should always be praying and reaching to Him. Every time that it is possible, we should be praying.

What to pray? Prayer is no more than opening your heart and knowing whom you're speaking to. Did you know that God already knows why and what we are praying for or about? Recognize whom God is, it should always have praise to God. We need some bread, we must be honest, bread is what we depend on God for. Our breath is our bread. Our body that works by itself, God controls, is our bread. A man can not forgive you of your sins no matter whom the man is. When we pray we should be asking what we need from within our hearts.

How to pray? The best example of this is when Jesus was in the garden praying, Matt 26. Jesus was fervent and was also honest. God is not fooled by a big speech. We should be open with God, He's not surprised. If you've got an problem with someone then you've got to be honest because He will want you to take care of the problem. So you didn't like how God answered your prayer, be honest about it. Fervent means that it's one on one. You must find alone time with God.

Will you pray? Every time the doors are open to the church we are always asking one to pray? It's always an open invitation to pray. No one is holding you back from praying. He's not fooled by you avoiding to pray.
