Pray, Encourage, Serve One Another

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35

What Keeps Oneness from Happening?

 We’re so mobile

 Life is complicated

 We like to keep our options open

 We’re so prickly

3 One Another(s)

1. Pray for… One Another

Confess your trespasses to ONE ANOTHER, and PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16-NKJV

2. Encourage…One Another

And let us consider how we may spur ONE ANOTHER on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but ENCOURAGING ONE ANOTHER—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25

3. Serve…One Another

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom

to indulge the flesh; rather, SERVE ONE ANOTHER humbly in love. Galatians 5:13

How do these 3 things best happen?

First: Praying, encouraging and serving happen best in small groups

One Lord > One Team > One Mission

Second: Praying, encouraging and serving happen best in AUTHENTICITY

Truth to Stand On: God who knows the worst about you loves you most

Once you learn that…

 You no longer live your life attempting to please everyone

 You will have the courage to stand on your convictions

 You can risk disagreeing or disapproving

 You can finally admit when you’re wrong about something

“If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. 8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” 1John 1:7-8
