Today we praythe Holy Rosary and reflecton the Joyful Mysteries. These focus on the birth and early life of Jesus, arefound primarily in the Gospel of Luke, specifically including: TheAnnunciation (Luke 1:26-38), The Visitation (Luke 1:39-56), The Nativity (Luke2:1-20), The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple (Luke 2:22-38), and TheFinding of Jesus in the Temple (Luke 2:41-51) and are traditionally prayed onMondays and Saturdays and on Sundays during the season of Advent. 

 

Prayers ofthe Rosary:

ApostlesCreed

I believe inGod, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth,

And in JesusChrist, His only Son, our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was bornof the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, die and wasburied…

He descendedinto Hell,

On the thirdday He rose again from the dead,

He ascendedinto heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty,

From there Hewill come to judge the living and the dead,

I believe inthe Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, theforgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.

 

Our Father (also known as The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father,who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,

Thy kingdomcome, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us thisday our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those whotrespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.Amen.

 

Hail Mary

Hail Mary,full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed areyou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus,

Holy Mary,Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

 

Glory Be (also known as The Doxology)

Glory be tothe Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

 

The FatimaPrayer

Oh my Jesus,forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell and lead all souls toHeaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy. Amen.

 

Hail HolyQueen

Hail, holyQueen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope…

To thee do wecry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourningand weeping in this valley of tears,

Turn then,most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this ourexile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O merciful, Oloving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

Pray for us,Oh Holy Mother of God, that we made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.
