Prayer 2021 - October 6 - Liar, Hypocrite or Believer pt 2
Scripture For Today: Luke 18:10“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.”Liar, Hypocrite or Believer pt 2
Yesterday, we started talking about being a “Liar, a Hypocrite or a Believer.” Some people may have taken offense at that – that’s ok. My mantra is you throw a stone into a pack of coyotes and the one that yelps is the one that got hit. If you’re offended by this preaching series on this topic, you should stop and ask yourself “WHY” you’re offended. Amen!
Ok, let’s turn over to Ephesians chapter 6 and verse 10 where we can read, “Be strong in the Lord and the POWER of HIS MIGHT!” Amen! Whose power? The Lord. Whose might? The Lord’s. Amen! It is not YOUR power or YOUR might at all.
That means it does not matter if you are an 85 year old or a 5 year old. The same power and the same might is available to you through Christ Jesus. Period! Amen! The only difference is the knowledge of the Word. At least that SHOULD be the only difference. Often, Christians will start to mix their “feelings” with it as well. Which ALWAYS waters down the power and the might aspect. Amen!
Now, in the few minutes we have left, I’m just going to give you some quick scripture references. I’m not going to take the time to go there and look up the scriptures and reading for you. YOU go to the scriptures and look them up. If you have to stop this recording, do so. Or if you want to write them down, this is your warning to get a pen and paper ready. But DO IT. Amen!
We could spend a lot of time looking at this, but that is outside the scope of these short teachings on prayer. But you need to get this…Ephesians 6 tells us to “put on the WHOLE armor of God.”
If you have to, to make it sink into your thick head, go through the actual motions of putting on armor. Amen! Put on your shoes…put on your breast plate…put on your helmet…etc… if that is what it takes for you to understand what it means to put on the WHOLE armor of God!
Then turn over to Romans 1:16….The Gospel is the Power of God…so we are equipped with His Power….praying always!!! Ephesians 2:1-2 talks about the Prince of the Power of the air…go back now to Ephesians 6:12….”this world” is the same as on earth…
Matthew 18:18-20
Bind on earth…Jesus has already bound the devil…and has given us the right / responsibility to use His Power ON EARTH….now, here is a tough question for you…think before you answer it…your life depends on it….where do we live? ON EARTH!!! Then this means Jesus has given to us his power to use HERE – not after you get to Heaven!!! Glory to God!!!
“But we did that brother Bob…and it didn’t work.” YOU LIAR! “What…it didn’t work, brother Bob!” You, my friend – are a liar! “But, brother Bob, we prayed and it didn’t work…. OK, look…does the Bible say it works! YES…that is because JESUS said it works! Now…either you are a liar…or the Bible says Jesus lied…and I PICK YOU! You will never get me to say Jesus is a liar…got that!?
Ok. Now that we established that fact, I have to leave it right there for today! Praise God! I know I’ll get some comments from that one. Save your time, bubba, I’m not EVER going to change my mind. The Bible is the TRUTH and nothing BUT THE TRUTH. If you have anything else to say about it – go to the Lord and tell Him to His face His Word didn’t work and that HE is a liar!
I would not recommend it. But if that’s what you want to say and believe, have at it.
We are going to pick it up again tomorrow right here.
I want to pray with you right now that you will begin to link these scripture verses together and SEE just what Power and Authority really belongs to you! Amen! Don’t be a liar. Don’t be a hypocrite. Be a BELIEVER! Amen!
