“ Therefore God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden.” - Romans 9:18

For the past few days, we have been praying for Ukraine. Truth be told I am unsure what our prayer points should be, but with God’s guidance, we’ve been getting specific prayers.

Today, I reviewed our prayers and learnt that our prayers lean more towards kingdom advancement prayers.

If it were up to me, I want to pray for peace, maybe the death of Putin. 😄 My point is that I would like to pray from an emotional standpoint.

Unfortunately for my emotions, our prayers for Ukraine are more like these:

“Lord Jesus, let you will be done in Ukraine.”

“Lord Jesus, show Ukraine that you are the only Sovereign God.”

“Lord Jesus, Enlighten the Eyes of the Ukrainians Understanding.”

According to my human mind, these prayers are very insensitive. People are dying and all you have are those? Where is the action, God? The one that sent fire from the heavens in the days of Elijah. The one that parted the sea in the days of Moses. The God that helped Jehoshaphat win the battle over Moab and Ammon. I want to see this action!

The good news is that the same God is still at work today. You should know that I/we don’t tell him what to do.

My relationship with God is not a Genie (God) and Master (I/we) relationship, but a servant (I/we) and Master (God) relationship.

I have to break this down, but that will be in my next post. Stay tuned.

As for now, our prayer for today is: Lord Jesus, establish yourself in the hearts of the Ukrainians. Help them find you, help them find rest.
