Following Jesus requires humility. One of the basic principles we find in Scripture is "I cannot do this on my own." Following Jesus means we will rely on His strength, mercy, forgiveness, and grace where we are weak. Unfortunately, pride will often prevent us from following after Jesus. Pride does not like to admit weakness. Exploring the example of prayer Jesus offers in (Matthew 6) reminds us of our needs.
